When the weather starts to turn cold I start to bundle up. There is one piece of gear that I never leave home without - a neck gaitor. You already know the benefits of wrapping up with a scarf - it protects and insulates your carotid arteries, where we lose a lot of body heat. Don't get me wrong - a scarf is nice, as is a full balaclava, but the neck gaitor fits right in between. I always feel like I should rob a bank or bust out some super sweet ninja moves when wearing a balaclava. With the neck gaitor - I can either wear it down, just protecting my neck, or I can pull it up over my nose for additional protection (and with a beanie - it makes a balaclava . . .) Made of merino wool and spandex - it is both warm and easy to breath through when pulled up. With a low profile and only 55 grams - it's easy to smash down in the outside pocket of my back pack, or my softshell. Lately - I have found it is perfect for cycling - helping to take the chill out of the air that gets past the top of my jacket. At $25 its easy to grab a couple and store them in different jackets.

Why Dynamic Earth Exists

There is an overwelming need within all of us to experience new things. To immerse ourselves in new experience and find our self and soul a bit better becasue of it.
